Tile laying, this proposition is not a new topic. Because this is already a must for most decoration. Many times, everyone pays more attention to the material and quality of the tiles. But often a small but important problem is overlooked: tile gaps handling.
Not good at handling gaps can lead to uneven tiles, yellowing and blackening, and even the tiles falling off. In more cases, it will leave dirt that is difficult to remove in the gap.

So how do you avoid these problems?

Mr. Shen said this to us:
Need to ensure the cleanliness of the tile gap, we need to start from two aspects, the first is to pay attention to the size of the different tiles. The second aspect is how the gap is handled after the laying is completed. Without the above two requirements, the perfect tile will slowly become a pity.

The first aspect is what we need to say today.
Filling the gaps of the tiles are well known. There are options for slit tiles and seamless tiles on the market. However, their difference is in addition to the different processes, the biggest difference is the size of the seam. If you really go to the “tile seamless stitching”, then your tile will have problems sooner or later. This is the principle of thermal expansion and contraction. In general, the size of the tile gaps depends on how the tile is laid.

Mr. Shen recommended:

1. Ordinary seamless tile seams should be in the range of 1-1.5mm, but not less than 1mm. The common gap tile is recommended to be 3-5mm.
2. When buying tiles, remember to ask the tile dealer for a cross locator. Generally, the positioner on the market has specifications of 1mm/2mm/3mm/5mm. The cross locator ensures that the tile caulking is flat and ensures a uniform gap between each tile.
3. If the tile is laid, it needs to achieve some effect. It is recommended to widen the gap of the tile. This will ensure that the later tiles will not squash. It is also easier to clean later. For example, some antique bricks, exterior wall tiles, cultural wall tiles, etc. Such tiles need to leave a little gap. This laying will be more beautiful.
